About the Role
The E170 Cabin Department Manager reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible for the professional standards and management of Company Cabin Crew, ensuring that all aspects of Cabin Service are conducted in accordance with Bermuda (BCAA) requirements in a safe, cost effective, and efficient manner. The Cabin Crew Department Manager is responsible to the DofO for advising on matters of cabin safety and service.
The position requires a combination of office based work and active flying duties. In addition to the office based duties listed below, the E170 Cabin Department Manager will carry out sufficient flying duties as a SCCM and/or CCM not only to maintain a high standard of personal proficiency in order to assess the competency and efficiency of Cabin Crew, but also to ensure that the highest possible standards of safety and service delivery are maintained.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties
Assuming a leadership role and establishing the operating standards for all Cabin Crew Members;
Ensuring that cabin operations are conducted in accordance with BCAA requirements, applicable State regulations, and Freedom II Bermuda Limited operating policies and standards;
Ensuring that all Cabin Crew maintain the highest standard of dress, deportment, and service to Freedom II Bermuda Limited passengers;
The management of day-to-day aircraft cabin operational issues;
Ensuring that all on board procedures comply with the BCAA and Company requirements;
Liaising with other department heads, caterers, cleaners, etc. on all aspects affecting normal cabin crew operations;
In coordination with the DofO, directing personnel functions such as recruitment, interviewing, hiring, setting performance goals and professional development, conducting performance evaluations, and providing performance feedback and training;
Establishing criteria, development, and implementation of training programs for Cabin Crew Members, to include working closely with training vendors on customization of course development;
Ensuring that the necessary training, including in particular Safety Emergency Procedures training, is given to all Cabin Crew to enable them to achieve a high operational standard and that such training is carried out in accordance with current regulatory requirements;
Ensuring Cabin Crew Members are trained in Freedom II Bermuda Limited procedures and monitoring continual adherence to SOPs;
Ensuring record keeping: cabin crew checks, training certifications and required documents (passports, visas, etc.) for Cabin Crew Members are current and retained in accordance with Freedom II Bermuda Limited policies;
Overseeing Cabin Crew Member documentation to include coordinating the production, distribution, and amendment of the Cabin Crew Manual (OM Part E) and other related department documentation;
Procuring, negotiating, and provisioning the management of cabin safety and galley equipment required for onboard safety and service that meets regulatory requirements and Freedom II Bermuda Limited standard of service requirements;
Directing product development to include menu and service planning, cabin and galley staging, passenger amenities, aircraft stock and additional passenger experience items for the operation;
FBO coordination, including various aspects of the passenger experience (greeting process, waiting area provisions and arrival welcome amenities, passenger escort procedures, etc.);
Directing decision making for preferred cabin service vendors at destination airports, ensuring they meet Freedom II Bermuda Limited requirements and standards;
In coordination with the Director of Safety and Security, participating in Freedom II cabin related SMS activities;
Maintaining regular and open communication with Freedom II management to identify any opportunities to improve CRM between flight, cabin, and engineering departments;
Keeping Cabin Crew informed and motivated through communication, including issuing pertinent planning and operational notices and other information to the Cabin Crew Members as required;
Remaining engaged in industry events, information channels, workgroups, etc. that may provide beneficial information for cabin service, recruitment, and safety operations; and
Assuming any duties delegated by the DofO.
Requirements
Established crew management experience in multi crew environments: i.e. General Aviation (Part 91/135), Cabin Manager experience for Part 121 VIP Operations, or Part 121 SCCM experience. Familiarity with E170 or similar aircraft type highly beneficial
Strong managerial skills required with the ability to effectively manage a growing team within an evolving operation
Compliance oriented mindset with the ability to understand and apply international regulatory requirements to the operation
Motivation to be involved in an integrated Safety Management System
Crew training and mentorship experience in SEP and Service standards
Experience with CCF equipment procurement, aircraft outfitting, cabin menu and service design
Cabin crew duty planning and effective management of the cabin team workload
Experience with Cabin Crew recruitment, interviewing, and hiring/onboarding
Sourcing of vendors / suppliers (training, catering, equipment, etc.) and the ability to foster and manager positive ongoing vendor relationships
Proactive and forward-thinking and planning ability with attention to detail. Optimist with a solutions-oriented mindset
Proficiency in MS365 especially, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams
Ability and willingness to travel to company locations and operational destinations on short notice with frequent schedule changes
Self-starter that can work with limited supervision with ability to direct and effectively prioritize
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data
About the Company
Freedom II holds a Part 121 Air Operating Certificate (AOC) from the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority and performs commercial charter operations. Our fleet consists of one B757 and two E170 aircraft.
